Worried About The Younger Generation

Every generation has worried about its children.  That is, after all, what "elders" do best, we worry about our "youth."  Why?  Because our youth is our tomorrow.  When we are old and grey and fragile it is going to be the children of today who are are caretakers.

Todays children will be the ones who are running the country when we are old and frail.  They will be our doctors, our lawyers, our police force, our military, our government, our president.

We worry about our children in 2 ways.

We worry that what we are doing today is not going to leave our children much of a world to be part of.  Funny how even though that is a worry we don't seem to be doing enough as the current people in charge to make it better.  We worry, but we refuse to change our ways.

We also worry that the youth today isn't going to be "good enough."  Not OUR children, of course, but the youth in general.  The spoiled generation, enabled for all their lives.  Expecting everything to be handed to them at a whim.

And both groups of worriers are right.  We are not doing the best we can for our tomorrow, and the yough today isn't good enough for the tomorrow we are going to leave them but...

Youth is strong.  EVERY generation worried about their children.  OUR parents worried about us. THEIR parents worried about them, and so on so forth all the way back to the very beginning of humanity.

Yet here we are, and here the world is.  It is not our parents world, because they left us something different.  But we grew, we changed, we adapted.

But we still worry about our children.

And they will worry about theirs.

  1. What a great image and quote. I love the bubbles in the picture and the quote is so true. We do worry and they will worry too. It would be nice if there was a way to stop this cycle.

    1. I don't think there will even be an end to worry, but it would be nice if we coudl change what we worried ABOUT. Ages ago worries were a bit simpler than they are today. You didn't use to worry that someone might decided to bomb your kids school or something like that.

  3. I love your quotography!! It makes sense. Our children will grow up to worry about their children. It is one thing that will continue as long as we have love in our heart.

  4. We grow up in spite of the mistakes of our elders, and yes, we will make mistakes of our own that will effect forthcoming generations, as well as our planet Earth.

    1. Yes, as we as the human race in gereal become more power, we show that power in more and more ways that harm Earth. I hope that though all our worry we might raise a future generation (the next if not this one) that can start healing the harm we've done.

      Yet we will still worry.....
