Budding Artist - Wordless Wednesday

I'm cheating a little and sharing this wonderful picture that I shared earlier on My Instagram.

He's been asking to paint ever since the night after I did my gelli print.  I love that he wants to paint.  I don't so much like cleaning up after he paints.

I gave in tonight after work though, spread out his stuff and told him to have fun.

Funny thing...shortly after I took the photo he decided he was done. Days of begging for mintues of painting.
(I sear, it took me longer to clean up than it did for him to create his masterpiece.)

  1. When a hard working mom comes home from work and sets up art time with her wee one, then cleans up after the fun ... Well, that makes her a terrific mom!

    1. Thank you Ruth. That means a lot.

Between working full time and the stuff I have to do at home that can't be put off (dishes and laundry etc) I feel like a horrible mom who never spends enough time with her children.

  2. Maybe you can teach him to clean up himself? I love the painting!

    1. We'll get to him cleaning up after his own painting sessions. Right now I'm not comfortable letting him walk across the room carrying paint or even the brush rinse water jar. Sadly he inherited my "grace" and has a tendency to drop things.... a lot of things.

  3. My twins used to get more paint on themselves than on the paper :) Loved your Wordless Wednesday post and picture.

    1. He's pretty good about only getting paint on his "paint shirt." He's a little funny about being dirty. Gets it from his dad. It took me a while to convince him it was okay if he got paint on his hands or arms, that it would wash off. Just to not wipe his hands on his pants.

    1. Thank you. He's progressed from his early muddy brown finger painting experiments.

    1. I don't have mine set up with google plus comments. I want people to be able to leave me a comment even if they are not on G+
